Prime Scan is a research project run by AI Ministries. Taking part is
voluntary and unpaid, you can stop at any moment by closing the tab, and
nothing is asked of you beyond the arithmetic your browser chooses to do.
What the page does on your machine
It requests a range of whole numbers, finds the prime numbers in that
range, checks how evenly they are spread, and sends back the counts. That is
the entire program and you can read all of it with view-source.
It uses processor time while it is running, which on a laptop or a phone
means more heat and less battery. It is set to work in small slices so the
rest of your machine stays responsive, but if that matters to you, stop it.
Nothing runs while the tab is closed.
Fair use of the service
Please do not automate against the server, run many copies to inflate a
count, or send results you did not compute. There is a rate limit, and
results are re-checked here.
Deliberately returning false counts is the one thing that can genuinely
damage this project, because a wrong count is indistinguishable from a
discovery until somebody spends time on it. We reserve the right to discard
results and to refuse service.
Results, credit and claims
The scan's findings and the record of ground covered belong to the
project. Your browser's random ID is attached to any block that gets flagged
as unusual, which is how a result can be traced back to whoever produced it,
and it is how you would be identified as a contributor to anything that comes
of it.
Keep your ID if you care about that. It exists only in your browser, and
clearing your site data destroys it with no way for us to restore it.
Nothing here is an offer, a contract of employment, or a promise of
payment or reward of any kind.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it works, that it is
available, or that it is fit for anything in particular. To the extent the
law allows, AI Ministries is not liable for any loss or damage arising from
using it.
Changes and stopping
The project may change how it works, pause, or end, at any time and
without notice. If these terms change, the date at the top changes with
them.
